The word from La Founder: What always fascinated me with Astrid is her multiple-faceted personality. She is this beautiful ans smart Parisian girl who settled on the left bank after having lived in London for a few years. Cinema lover, British literature and movies aficianado, she loves oysters, Godard, and Shakespeare. A true Saint-Germain gal. You would think she is all about Gainsbourg and Jane Austen, but no, she is so much more. Astrid actually started her career working for L’Olympique Lyonnais, Lyon’s soccer team. And so she is literally my only female friend who is so knowledgeable in soccer and who happens to be a hardcore fan. She now works for Maje, the fast-growing French fashion brand and is a digital marketing expert. And the girl listens to classical music but dances on Whitney Winston. Oh and did I mention she is also writing a screenplay? You can’t get better than this, right? 🙂
Your astrological sign:
A special feature about you:
Your credo/mantra in life:
Right now: in French, “Le sportif intelligent évite l’effort inutile”. Translated, it gives: A smart athlete avoids uncessary exercice.
Why you love your job/craft? Or why you have chosen this path?
I love the fact that each day is never the same. You constantly need to keep yourself up-to-date with new products and go out of your comfort zone!
A special project you loved doing:
I am a football fan. Quite unexpected when you work in fashion. I had a great pleasure of meeting the great Franz Beckenbauer before a champions league match OL-BAYERN. We won 3-0, no need to say that he would not have been that nice post-match!
An anecdote you would like to share:
I write scripts in my spare time, hopefully I will get one project produced one day!
A special person/encounter, or a mentor/partner:
My first boss (OL football club): Virginie Adnet. She a killer at her job and the best person I know! A true model of women empowerment.
It is a play, Cyrano of Bergerac. I can’t think of a more romantic hero! The entire play is the quintessence of frenchness to me.
Much ado about nothing. I remember it very clearly, I use to watch it when I was a child. Kenneth Branagh is true genius for me, he opened the window to a whole new world for me. He totally makes Shakespeare accessible for any audience.
Favorite TV show:
Downton Abbey. I cried my eyes out the entire show! Such a good writing piece and very British.
Favorite song/music artist to listen to for work:
At the moment: The divine comedy. Neil Hannon is enchanting, a true gentleman lost in space-time.
Favorite song to dance to:
I want to dance with somebody by Whitney Houston
A dessert: almond charlotte.
Am I allowed to talk about alcohol? 🙂 Red wine
Favorite city, a place you love in that city:
Lyon. Paris is an amazing city but Lyon is more mysterious. A rough diamond.
L’Oseille (Paris 2nd)
Favorite brand or brand of the moment, and why:
Maje (big surprise!). No clearly, the brand takes risk and constantly renews itself.
A guilty pleasure
Do nothing. 🙂
